What is a rice cooker and how does it work?

What’s a rice cooker?
A rice cooker is an electric device to cook rice automatically by releasing steam in order to warm the water, this device has two trays, one that goes on top of the other, in the bottom tray is where you pour the water and in the other one is where you put the rice.
How to use a rice cooker?
It is quite simple and easy:
- First you open the machine and extract both trays
- The bottom compartment (the metal one) is covered with cold water equivalent to the amount and type of rice you are going to use, for this you will need to check the rice package instructions. Salt is also added in this tray
- In the other tray you need to put the rice you are going to cook
- Close the rice cooker and select the option you wish
How does the rice cooker works?
its function is simple, the heat that it releases becomes steam, same steam that is used to cook the rice. It starts with a precooking program that warms the water to make it boil, once all the water has evaporated the rice cooker continues cooking with less temperature until the rice has reached the right texture.
